It's not uncommon across many social media.
If you're up front about it then I don't see a problem with it. With some people it comes across as insincere and fake or even attention seeking.
And if catfishing well☺ it's all gonna catch up eventually.
But some people are just too awesome for one profile. Haha

People think they're talking to you and in fact they're talking to a character.

That's the opposite of being social, its being deliberately evasive.
There are plenty of fantasy sites out there.

I don't know maybe it's a reflection of my mental health that I do this. I don't feel I have a fixed identity.

What are your other usernames? I have seen several others on here do the same thing. It is easy to spot someone if you have known them for months or years.
