Why do people get annoyed when people agree with them too much?

My dad gets very irritated when I agree with everything even some things I don't agree with. He is like, "DON'T just agree with me to make me feel better. Quit agreeing with me!"
I always have that stuck in my head. My dad always says things that ends up being stuck in our heads.
