Did you know that if you use the radius of the compass from its circle drawn

and draw an arc at any point on its circumference , and then using that arc as the next point and son on around the circumference , and then draw straight line segments to the center from those arcs the circle will be divided into 6 equal segments always but the Radius of the compass must belong to that circle size , yep , try it !

Yes: it is a well-known method for constructing a regular hexagon.

I used a derivation of that construction not long ago to set out a jig for assembling a hexagonal frame.
