@LUVELACE: I completely agree.
He really hijacked the GOP party, so he doesn't have a whole lot of loyalty even from within his own party.
As a matter of fact, he plays so unpopularly, it doesn't do Congressmen and women any good to align with him when the public isn't finding him worthy of supporting.
To align with him may cost them dearly in the midterms.
The midterms are no longer 24 months away. They are now less than 19 months away.
If Trump doesn't secure some successes by September the going gets tougher. That is the period Congress pays particular attention to the temperature of their districts, and won't go willingly into the night with Trump. Their own survival instincts kick in.
Basically, having accomplished virtually nothing, ostracizing many, while continuing to make public statement blunders and proposing a tax plan that will greatly enrich himself, there isn't much payoff for anyone to go out publicly to support him.
Nevermind what various investigations may find.
Even though I don't like him, I haven't seen anything that implicates Trump in any knowledge of wrongdoing with Russia.
So there we are. The best thing he has done as President may be his not colluding with Russia.
Nor did any one of our past 44 Prezidents!
But the jury isn't in yet on that.....
