There was a family of blue jays that lived in my backyard but one of the babies fell out of the nest when I put it back it jumped out what should I do

You're not ever supposed to touch a baby bird. Your scent will make the mother reject it.

@melmouthfulls: most birds don't have a sense of smell. It's pretty rare. Blue Jays don't.

@melmouthfulls: yeah. I think parrots and kiwis do though. Maybe a few others. That's why they put cayenne pepper in bird seed to keep the squirrels away from it.
