The 62 richest people have more wealth than the poorest 3.7 billion people. That's pretty mind-blowing.

Now consider that in some systems that means that those families regularly provide millions of dollars to hundreds of their relatives to live in luxury and basically do nothing or whatever pursuits they want.

That's how it's always been in Kindgdoms and Dictarships. That's why the founding fathers decided that a republic, on based on capitalism could work better.

And it has. America went from the poorest country in the world 400 years ago to the most self aware, tech advanced, and progressive one by 1950. Sure it has flaws. Sometimes the reps and the judges and the exec think they are the bosses.

They aren't. They're just the appointed heads of a three branched system. These are subject to being pruned as the rebranches are growing in. The populous has the representation. Never doubt that people power doesn't exist at the ballot box. The system works.

I agree to a point. I believe in a mixed economy. America, even and especially at its most successful times, had some social programs and a substantial income tax. Some hardcore capitalists would support austerity in times of recession, but I don't know of any time when that has helped. I definitely vote, though, because the massive numbers of young people who do not vote can only result in a severely underrepresented younger generation.
