What do you think is the most valuable lesson you learn from your parents? Or just the one that first comes to mind?

Preferably a positive lesson. I just want a positive question about parents to even things out here.

From my mom: There's more to life than being a productive member of society or just fitting in with the cultural norms in general, and having a different life than others doesnt make you less of a person.

From my dad: To focus on myself, and that negative feelings are not the same thing as negative thoughts.

@twistermind Well I do consider both of them smart c: . And it's good that they did. If I might be so bold I think anyone who doesn't teach their kids those things(or at least tries) is doing society a bit of a disservice.

@mic11225: @mic11225: Agree! But, you know parents are inside a sick society so many times they unknown what your parents knew. That's why I said that your parents are especial.
