When would you say modern radical Islam started in the modern day?

In the 40's? That's quite a while ago. Out of curiosity what do you consider a a peaceful religion?

Bhuddism, Christianity, and by today's standards Hinduism. No religion is without blood on its hands.

I agree that almost all the major religion have blood on their hands but can you really say that they were down to the ideology of these religions and that political or regional problems between a number of countries over a period of time has nothing to do with it? ...and that maybe labels were thrown on these conflicts too easily. An old example would be the crusades, for example.. not a lot of people know why it was started and are quick to label it as a religious war and leave it at that... just saying

@Curiousguy833: non-sequitur. That every race has human rights violations does not make it ok to use slurs.

@GoldenWorm: my last comment was a play on the words in crabbyhermit comment before that. I was trying to show that changing the "labels" of religion to race does not make the slurs any better
