Do you think ,religion is the root cause of all problems in this world?

sunnydaze · F
Religion isn't a problem in itself. It's how people wieldd it like a weopon.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@sunnydaze Now religious leaders, of all religions, made religion fanatic. They teach not to love other religion. So humans hate each other. Blood of all humans is red. It is a fact.
Nobody00 · F
No. Selfishness is.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@Nobody00 good answer
Nobody00 · F
@Alexsw I can do even better : Since it's too hard to look inside of oneself and search of the root cause of his her problems, people blame it on religion, God, neighbor, cat, dog, water...dirt. Anybody, but themselves. So, there 🎓😄

@Nobody00 let us see

No. WWI, WWII, Great Depression, the Holocaust, Communism, Fascism, etc., have nothing to do with religion. That's true of the vast majority of wars and violence throughout history (yes there are exceptions like the Thirty Years War, but they are exceptions). If anything and with one notable exception, religion has been a restraining, moderating force, standing against the root causes of all problems we face.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@SW-UserHolocaust and Fascism is an offshort of religion. The religious leaders want all comforts of life. They want money and survival, so they inject fanaticism into religion and hate rated towards other religion.

@Alexsw The Holocaust and Fascism were secular, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, racist yes, but hardly religious. To call them offshoots of religion is to make nonsense of the claim. So anything you see as a root cause of all problems you call religion, whether it has any connection to it or not? Like Communism, which has killed far more innocent people than any other movement or all others combined? How is religion at the root cause of communism, rather than atheism, which removes all constraints on behavior if the end justifies the means? If there is no God, anything is permitted, as the 20th century proved all too clearly. And you dare to blame religion?
LoveChild · 26-30, F
You're almost on the right track. The root cause of needless suffering is absence of the one true religion (false beliefs).
Alexsw · 70-79, M
good that your understand religion well.
LoveChild · 26-30, F
@Alexsw: I do. Better than anyone, I'd venture.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@LucyRocks: great👍
Justpeaceandlove · 61-69, F

Alexsw · 70-79, M

Some followers of some religions cause a lot of the problem but religion itself isn't. When was the last time Wiccans started a war?
Sharon · F
I have answered the only question you've posed in this sub-thread. I'm still waiting for you to answer my question. I guess English isn't your first language.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Sharon: Have Wiccans ever started a war? I'm not aware of one.
Sharon · F
@suzie1960: Not that I'm aware of either.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
Organized religion is a major cause but not the only one.
CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
No. Power, money, and the acquisition of those things are.
CaptainCanadia · 41-45, M
If the Middle East did not have valuable oil reserves and strategic importance for militaries, there'd be no decades of the US and Europe playing Kingmaker and starting wars. Without all that chaos, there's no desperate situation for the extremists to rise up in.

You don't get religious crazies out of stable, happy societies where everyone is making good money.

And there's tons of wars with no religious basis. What was the religious reason for World War I?
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@TyphoidJerry: read my question..i said present day
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@TyphoidJerry: Monarchy of Middle east want to keep the oil richness within royal family, instead of giving way for democracy. So they seek help of world police USA
Datdudeblack · 36-40, M
people are. we choose to follow and interpret things that fits our wants in the world.
Yes, it plays a huge role.

Money and power are other reasons.
Steph35 · 46-50, F
The Root no, but used to gain power. Yes.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
may be not root cause, but the present problem in this world is religion.
wildflower12 · 31-35, F
I don't think so. The problem is our human being because religious belief system is also created by human. With the same saying from "GOD", each person can understand differently. Without religion, we would have more new problems and maybe laws would be very advance because it was the only tool to control our human behaviors.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@wildflower12: God didn't create any religion. Now religion is money making multinational corporation.Religious leader want trouble, then only they can make money.
not all the problems..
its not the reason fr the problem in my stomach.. *grrrr
jk..sorry..its not just religions..i think its selfishness n greed which drives most of the problems in the world..evn the religious problems arise due to the greed of ppl who can go to any extents fr their own vested interests 😔
Alisha · F
I think it's the people that twist what each religion. People will use religion to start conflict. People are the problems. Not religion.
Alexsw · 70-79, M
@Alisha The religious texts say killings those people who dont follow the religion is good.
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
All? no, overpopulation is the biggest issue. Religion certainly doesn't help with that though.
Ian123 · 61-69, M
How can it be, it does cause a lot of problems and always has but not all of them
Memyself20 · 41-45, F
No just people not understanding or accepting other people for being different
mic11225 · 26-30, M
No. Its a symptom. And even at that it can do some good.

McNaughty · 31-35, F
