Am I the only person who loves the smell of the bitter cold air and the lingering smell of cigarettes?

You know? Not the overwhelming smell of people who have recently smoked but the one where it's just barely there, mixed with the smell of the stingy smell off the cold air?
Probably not. The part of the brain that registers smells is located close to the memory part. That's why smells are so evocative. If you are somewhere and smell a loved one's perfume or cologne from your childhood, your memory flies back to that moment.

Yes just you
I agree.. I'm an ex smoker, yet that lingering smell as you say, on the night air or the cool air of the day is special.. I cannot stand the smell of smoke on clothes etc so I find this guilty pleasure strange..

I'm with you on the bitter cold air, I love it but cigarettes, nah. Everyone I dislike smokes so it reminds me of unpleasant memories.

I don't because I was raised in a non smoking house and warm climate.

That's the same with me. I live in Texas but when it gets cold I love to feel the bitterness of cold air and I was raised in a non smoking home as well.

My grandfather's pipe and the smell of bourbon, was very comforting when I was small.
