No. I don't believe in absolutes. There are always exceptions.

Absolutes are dangerous
So you don't believe anything in life is objectively true, independent of perspective and subjective opinion?

Yes change seems to be the only constant and fact of reality (life) until everything ceases to exist that is
@dark325: What about gravity? Death? The slow evolution towards chaos?

@mar3sword: well yeah that too lol

@mar3sword: I omitted death and taxes. However, I have my personal absolutes. An example is deliberate cruelty and torture to animals or any living being. Unfortunately, this also falls down as an absolute if the circumstances are so dire (being captured by ISIS and giving the choice of seeing an animal suffer or your child). That's an extreme, but absolutes really depend on circumstances. We can hold absolutes in a general sense, until, and if, we are faced with a moral dilemma.
But there are absolutes give certain circumstances. For example, I am not going to kill an innocent person to save the life of someone I care about. I will kill someone who is attempting to take the life of someone I care about. I can explain why I killed that person then, for their own actions. I know and accept that I am responsible for each and every action that I commit.

@mar3sword: I think you have to experience an (extreme) situation before you know your own action.

You say you will not kill an innocent person to save the life of someone you care about. Maybe that's a fact, but when faced with saving your child or saving an innocent stranger, you may find your actions are different than what you think they would be.

@softspokenman: There you go...people are stupid. I concur. Even the best of people are stupid (or do stupid things) at times.
@Carissimi: You have changed the wording. Faced with saving my child and a stranger I will save my child first. But if the only way to save my child is by taking a innocent life... That is different. But regardless of whether or not I am personally strong enough to make that decision if faced with that scenario. I know that it is the right decision.
