Is it alright for a man in relationship to hug a sad single female friend?

And is it alright for a single woman to approach a man in relationship when she is sad?

I want everyone's opinions, you don't get to answer me though, discuss it with your significant others.

What does being sad have to do with anything?
Madelenie · 26-30, F
Who knows. I don't know those women but I know women can be so dangerous when they want something, men are too easy sometimes
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@Marshmallow: yes, we do lack complexity at times. It also has something to do with age Im sure. Young guys tend to think with their, umm you know.
Madelenie · 26-30, F
Yeah that starts with d

Yes both of these scenarios are absolutely ok. There's nothing wrong with comforting someone with a hug, regardless of whether or not one or both of them are in relationships with other people. A hug doesn't have to be sexual. Two friends can genuinely hug for comfort.

What if that man is significant to that woman?
Grasshopper25 · 31-35, M
@Marshmallow: Well, I'm not saying intimate feelings cant come into play. Im just saying normally a hug here and there should be pretty innocent. But if the girl is more than a little attracted to the guy, and it's happening all the time and the hugs seem to linger for longer than they should, that seems like dangerous grounds.
Grasshopper25 · 31-35, M
Hugging seems to be a grey area. It could be innocent, and it could be completely inappropriate depending on the nature of the hug and how they view each other.

sure what the gf doesn't know doesn't hurt. So long as he's not cheating on her.

I think it's alright as long as boundaries are established and respected. You know? If everyone agrees and is loyal to those agreements then there shouldn't be any problems. ☺️

Its not right.

Don't put too much thought into a hug right now but if you feel it's a red flag then keep ur guard...listen to ur own instincts...not from someone else's opinion. A man/boy normally won't be just friends with a female no matter what he says so beware...

Yes ... it is an act of compassion not passion and their partner should be ok with it.

Gotta play the field. Be on the look out for vulnerable women, who need TLC. A little polygamy, so to speak. lol This is only from a man's perspective.
lillyd · F
yeah but if your s.o. is jealous keep it to yourself
Madelenie · 26-30, F
I'd prefer those men be honest and open up to their SO even they are jealous, or it would be much more severe after they find out
lillyd · F
well that is true!! I'm the jealous type though and if my partner wanted to simply comfort a friend I don't need to know
yllacsar · 46-50, M
of course......jealousy is NO fun for anyone involved......if you can't trust your SO to hug/spend time with a needy friend - you're a pathetically jealous ass
Madelenie · 26-30, F
I'm not that kinda ass if you were trying to attack me
yllacsar · 46-50, M
not at all....just saying...
