Wtf even are grits? What do they taste like?

Listen I'm from the west coast and grits are southern mmmkay therefore ive never had the darn things or seen them on a menu around here

It's very close if not identical to polenta, as far as I know. As such I can confirm it's pretty great

@bijouxbroussard Never seen milk in my recipes 🤔 water, corn flour, some olive* oil and salt (going by memory; it could be peanuts oil or sunflower oil, I don't remember). My grandma at most may use butter, I'll have to ask her
@Elessar No, not in polenta. But adding milk to grits makes it creamier, with a richer taste.

@Neurotoxin Hell yeah. Soft/creamy (typically yellow) with mushrooms and stews, or charred (typically white) with fish 😌


And an infinity of other combinations, these just happen to be the ones I have more often
