It's very close if not identical to polenta, as far as I know. As such I can confirm it's pretty great

@Elessar Yes ! That’s it, exactly.

@Elessar Polenta is...creamier?
bijouxbroussard · F
@SwampFlower Not if you prépare grits with milk.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard I do!
Neurotoxin · 31-35, M
@Elessar oh ive had polenta before. It was good
Elessar · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard Never seen milk in my recipes 🤔 water, corn flour, some olive* oil and salt (going by memory; it could be peanuts oil or sunflower oil, I don't remember). My grandma at most may use butter, I'll have to ask her
bijouxbroussard · F
@Elessar No, not in polenta. But adding milk to grits makes it creamier, with a richer taste.

@Neurotoxin Hell yeah. Soft/creamy (typically yellow) with mushrooms and stews, or charred (typically white) with fish 😌

And an infinity of other combinations, these just happen to be the ones I have more often
