Why do people tell me they wish they were as tall as me?

I’m 5’11” 3/4 and I HATE being tall. It sucks sometimes but they’re are great things about being tall. One of the ladies that I met in a school I applied for asked how tall I am and I told her I’m 5’11” 3/4. She said, “Nooo you look taller then that. More like 6ft or 6’1” you’re lucky. I wish I was as tall as you. I’m only 5’5”.
Why do most women want to be as tall as me? Most men don’t even want tall women and prefer petites or average height women. Even my older sister wishes she has my height and tells me I should embrace it because I have what most women wish they had and taller people get taken more seriously and can do more.
I wish I was like 5’8 or 5’4” my sister is 5’2” 1/2

I was told by a friend (yeah, right) in HS that girls didn't want to date me because of my height (6-1). I grew another 3 inches after HS. The tallest woman I dated was about 5-3. I eventually married a woman that was 5-zip. I think there's something whereby shorter women desire height. Maybe that is unconsciously seen as an asset as a provider. In that same way, probably further seen as an attribute to being more independent and self-sufficient.

At any rate, it wasn't because I wouldn't date taller women, it was simply the fact most women were average height or so, and shorter women were more inclined to show an interest in me.
