Grand Funk Railroad
You've probably never heard of them, but they were way hyped and way overrated in the late 60s early 70s.

@ElwoodBlues Totally forgot. 100 agree. A lot of disco stuff was all hype too.

@calicuz *giggles* I like stuff other people think is not great too.
@calicuz I’m super heavy words girl and even the actual song notes, well over the musicianship even. So my love of the Beatles, Dylan, and Bands like The Cure confound many that think they are trash since the musicianship is very arguable subpar, shown by the fact that many covers of their songs are better than the original. I would argue that it speaks to the great songs separate from the artist that wrote them, though.

@calicuz you must be a lyrics and song person like me. I get that they are not the greatest musicians in the world but that takes nothing from the songs they wrote and performed.

@DarkHeaven
I simply enjoy good music, and The Beatles were in fact one of the greatest bands in the history of recorded music.

@DarkHeaven In their song "American Band," Grand Funk immortalized a groupie named Connie Hamzy. Here's a link to her obit:
Hamzy first gained recognition at the age of 17 when Grand Funk Railroad’s band manager contacted her, letting her know that she was mentioned in a line of a song that would go on to become a number one record: ‘We’re an American Band.’
@ElwoodBlues I think Grand Funk Railroad was very under rated.

@ElwoodBlues Agreed, matters of taste should not be disputed.
