Anyone in their right mind will understand and won’t find anything lame about it. You’ve done enough. I hope whoever receives those gifts are humble enough to agree rather than making you feel worse about it. If not, don’t let them kick you while you’re down, but cross them off the list for next year. You’re doing what you can even when you don’t need to. If they can’t appreciate that, then they don’t deserve it.
