If you don't like an animal why would you walk or stand close to it?

One thing I've noticed the older I'm getting is that people's spacial awareness is awful.
They have no respect for personal space.
This is one of the reasons I don't shop down Oxford Street anymore.
I don't like to be so close to others that I can smell their perfume...
Anyways now I've got a dog I've noticed most people don't see him, or even if they do because he's small and "cute" they think it's OK to stand right close to him.
So much so that if he jumps to protect himself they get upset.
But I've seen children do the same sort of thing.
I guess the worry with a dog is that they will bump and bite!
I get it, but if you're nervous and you've seen him why even test it?
You're putting yourself at risk...

I really get uncomfortable with people who invade my personal space. There are people who are "clse talkers," they drive me nuts

@samueltyler2 I'm exactly the same, I remember as a child experiencing an adult whispering in my ear when she was drunk. Ever since then I've never liked anyone getting up close and personal!

I know. Tourist attractions get busy but this was too much for me.

@Mellowgirl I don't know what caused my aversion.
The fact that you’re mindful of where Bruno is in relation to other pedestrians is a very good thing. I live in the city and I watch where I walk. But I’ve had the experience of dogs approaching me and coming too close while I’m standing still and their owner isn’t paying attention. I’m not afraid of dogs and it doesn’t really bother me, as long as the dog’s friendly and it’s not prolonged. But some people are. Not everyone likes dogs, which sometimes owners don’t understand.

@bijouxbroussard I try my hardest to make sure he's not wondering off for that very reason.
But in a busy environment it's hard. At various points he was so tired of the people I had to pick him up. Which of course you then get comments, "is he your baby?" "he's spoilt"
Hmm... You can't please all of the people all of the time. And I'm doing the best I can.
I'm proud of myself and his behaviour given that I've never had a dog before.
@Mellowgirl From your posts you’re clearly trying to be a good pet parent and do the very best for him. And he obviously loves you. Don’t let any strangers tell you you’re "spoiling" him. You can tell when he’s tired and has had enough. 🐕‍🦺

I'm scared of children for the same reason they might bite
