Just reconnected with my aunt

She wants me move in with her. Her husband passed away early this year. I don’t like where I’m staying right now. They are nice people but they are very dirty. They had a room to rent when I needed a place. They always told give 30 day notice and pay last month rent. I feel bad for telling them I might leave. I don’t know how to tell them.

Bluntly works best. Give the 30 day notice and pay last month rent as agreed. Thank them for their help when you needed it, but you’re ready to move on. You don’t need to get mean about it or anything and you don’t owe them an explanation.

Moving to live with your aunt sounds like the perfect reason to move. Just say that. You say they are nice people, so they will appreciate both being told the reason and the reason itself.
