I think you should just be honest and say it was rough for you financially this year. Of course you can do something like bake fudge or cookies or something and give little bags or something like that.

Get creative and make some art projects you can give to friends and family. Maybe a photo collage , Xmas ornaments, maybe some gift cards, or "scab bucks" offering your services or time for, cleaning, yard work, tutoring, errand running, etc, etc. Just a thought. Don't stress to much on the holidays , you got your health, family and friends they will understand. Happy Holidays.

Hey, the value of Christmas gifts aren’t measured by how expensive they are. Hell, one year I got a pouch of coffee grounds as a gift. Another year, I got a shirt of my favorite band. Both simple inexpensive gifts, but was delighted to get them all the same. Case in point: don’t think you’re being cheap for getting something simple. If it’s something you know they’re going to like, they’re sure to love it.

@scabs what about thrifting? Or £1 $1 shops? I don't know where you are in the world but there must be something cheap where you are. Or maybe buy sweets or make a gift using craft supplies knitting, sewing etc. There are plenty of youtube video's to learn crafts.
