Ever unlock random childhood memories and go woah?

I just remembered one from when I was maybe 5/6. I remember my mom and her boyfriend at the time outside in the driveway arguing over something. I was just minding my own business when i saw him whip a beer can into the garage.

I think the next day a brick got thrown through our living room window and he would come and yell and call my mom all sorts of names.

I remember going to the police station and my mom was making a report. I remember sitting on the floor playing with a little pebble when i interrupted and said he threw a beer can. The lady was rude to me and told me to be quiet. I think she threatened to put me in a cell or something. I don't remember what she said but i know she threatened something and i got real quiet.

I think that's where my distrust and dislike of cops stems from.

I don't know the details are getting murkier as i get older. I had forgotten until it hit me out of the blue and i was like woah

{@moonchildxx] there is an old adage children should be seen and not heard but under that circumstance her reactions where not called for and inappropriate

@SW-User Good. I cant stand hearing about abusive men.
SW-User
@Fungirlmmm unfortunately she had a lot of crappy boyfriends. She worked as a waitress in a bar and that's where she'd meet them mainly

Sorry bro, but the good thing is, you didn't grow up like any of those dirt bags.
SW-User
@calicuz I'd never put my hands on a woman like that or whip bricks through peoples windows. I might do drugs and drink some but damn i have manners at least

Maybe just reached a calm enough point in life for those memories to flow?
SW-User
@StraightLacedLADY maybe it's just weird though
That is strange.. do you think your mom's bf also threw the brick?
SW-User
@SStarfish yeah it was him because he'd drive over stand on the porch and yell stuff. I witnessed that. I didnt see him throw a brick but i do remember coming home from school confused because there was a board over the front room window where the couch was. I asked what happened and my mom told me
