Do you think it’s creepy that I can relate to children more than adults? Be honest

I work at an autism school and I can relate to those kids because I’m in the autism spectrum myself. When I’m around the adults I feel alone. Also when is adults are around, they talk about nasty things, curse and talk about naughty things and sex but not all the time. Mostly adult things. I get uncomfortable with adult talk but my older siblings said I SHOULD be hearing these kind of things and I’m old enough to hear adult things now and they won’t mince their words anymore around me since I’m “old enough”. I’m 19.

When kids have a meltdown people makes it not a big deal, but if it’s an adult, they don’t feel sorry for them and expect autistic adults to get over themselves and stop the drama.
Kids don’t judge you, they just play and have fun all day. So sweet and say the cutest things, even though their blunt.

@CheekyBadger Maybe. Call my cousin Suzy is very weird and I need to get used to adult conversation and stop it because I’m way too old to be acting silly like kids and grow the f up. They told me being uncomfortable is a good thing because I need to he comfortable in having adult conversation and get used to hearing naughty things and vulgar shit. I’m an ADULT not a damn child.

@LaylaTheTallGirl well you've come to the right site for adult conversation! I think part of it is upbringing - if you have parents who would always shield you from anything adult or make it seem bad then hearing it can make people anxious. I would suggest perhaps listening to some adult comedians on youtube and getting used to finding the humour that there often is in adult conversation.
