How do you make friends as an adult?

I've been trying to unlock that secret for years!

I think the biggest reason it's so hard is because the older people get, the more they want to just stick with what they know and become more inclined to close themselves off to new people, new experiences, etc. The folks that people befriend as children and as teenagers tend to be the ones they try to carry into adulthood with them and think of as their "forever friends". But these people tend to be so naive that what they don't end up asking themselves is: "If for any reason my 'forever friends' should suddenly turn into people I fucking hate, what happens then?"

In other words, it's almost like "If you and I didn't grow up in the same neighborhood together, go to the same school together, go to the same church together or work together at the same place for X number of years, then please do not try getting into my personal business!"

You can find groups of adults that are a lot more open and trusting of new people, but it's rare. There's the MeetUp app where you can join social groups and whatnot for things that cater to your interests, but even in my area, I couldn't seem to find much that was up my alley in terms of the local MeetUp groups. That's why I spent some money and started my own!

@SubZeroSlays808 what did u start of your own? You found a place where to buy friends?

@Dan193 No, no, my friend! You don't buy friends on the app. You simply download the app, install it, then do a search within the app for groups in your area and it will tell you what social groups are near you and also what the groups are for (as there are different groups for all different intetests).

Myself personally, I wanted a group of people that would just meet up at a bar/restaurant with me, eat chicken wings and shoot the shit with me. Didn't find that on the app, so I created my own group with this intention in mind (anyone can create their own group on the app, but doing so sadly costs money).

@SubZeroSlays808 ohhh I see now. I'm glad it worked for u. I'll see if that app works for me

@Dan193 It's working, but it has been an extremely slow process. My group has been on the app since the middle of March and meets every other Wednesday, but this last Wednesday was the first time I had someone from the app show up and give my group a chance, so hopefully this stroke of good fortune continues!

@SubZeroSlays808 looks like it's gaining momentum. Very good work
