Growing old having left nothing behind.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DylanGuy you make it real morbid bro
DylanGuy · 22-25, M
@Dan193 it's true.
we only have significance if we leave something lasting after we are gone.
Be it an act of kindness, heroism, art, contribution etc. doesn't matter. Do something that continues on beyond you, and your life isn't wasted.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DylanGuy Id's say fulfilled instead, because we don't know what happens after "lights out". But yeah, I agree there is some inherent psychological need to leave something behind, in order to live a fulfilled life.
DylanGuy · 22-25, M
@Dan193 Fulfilled, Wasted. Half full, half empty.
it's all perspective.
I like the glass half full line of thought but my brain doesn't think that way.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DylanGuy what I learnt in my short life :p is that everything we say, think and do is part of our behaviour. And that is something that can be changed through discipline. So don't worry, you're not broken or anything. You can change your thought process just gotto work consistently at it.
DylanGuy · 22-25, M
@Dan193 on the flip side, a glass half empty can be no different than a glass half full.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@DylanGuy yeah, but the way u see it, makes you more thirsty or think like it's enough
DylanGuy · 22-25, M
@Dan193 maybe.
