I wonder why so many people think that Brittany Griner taking a stand against police brutality against people of color equals hatred toward Americans?

Don't they realize American was founded on fighting against oppression, that's what the American revolution was about. I don't see how being upset and peacefully protesting against police brutality against black people equals hating America, unless you feel that racism is part of being American. Sad thing is it really is an "American" thing for too many people, and that's not something to be proud of. We did have an ugly beginning (owning slaves along with the treatment of the native people from the US government & the churches) but I hope we can fix that or at least become better from it and learn to get along in harmony.
