I swear, my dad is his own worst enemy.

He wanted to get up early today to get down to a rental property where he's been trying to meet the tenant. He's convinced if we get there early enough, we'll catch him before he takes off again. We've got a phone number for the guy, but it's currently non-functional.

Anyway, I got up this morning, and my dad had a bunch of snack foods that I've recently purchased for him to enjoy, asking me which pig-based snack I would prefer to eat on the way down. He was very hyper and energized, and not listening to me when I told him over and over I need a meal, which consists of a certain amount of carbohydrates, before we could do anything. He knows that, and he knows the reason why is that I have to take a shot of Admelog (fast acting insulin) appropriate to the number of carbohydrates I'm consuming.

Finally, having gotten fed up with his suggestions that have zero grams of carbohydrates in them, I yelled, "I'm taking my insulin, and you can't stop me!" I realize I shouldn't have put it that way, but it seemed like the only way to get him to shut up and listen for one second.

So now he's been in bed for the last hour, pouting while the day wastes away, because I wasn't going to leave without taking care of my diabetes.
