who the heck brings used batteries to a proper disposal site ? , i just toss em in the garbage like other normal people do
and i'm talking about individual people not large companies dealing in used batteries

I am one of those normal people and i have always taken my batteries to a place where they could be recycled..they're really aggressive with the earth, if thrown to the ground. You can just guess that by looking at them when they go bad, i'm even worried to touch those liquids they emit with bare hands so why to let them out

@FurryFace worse than that. They have allowed China to buy cheaply the type of stuff that they have a demand for in order for China to get materials to manufacture more crap stuff to import here and displace our factory jobs. If the environment was the reason for recycling maybe stop importing so much crap from China. Those cargo ships are emitting more pollution that all the other vehicles on earth.

Some people probably do and they also bring certain types of light bulbs, paints, and unused chemicals to them. They have these disposals every few months here.

@Virgo79 Depending on demand, which can change. Remember several years ago when there was a strike by dockworkers in California and the containers didn’t get returned for months to China? The recycling built up really bad. Well after the shipping returned to normal China lowered the price they were willing to pay for aluminum. A man I worked with from Mexico said they were paying half for American aluminum as they were paying Mexico for their recycled aluminum. Because they knew it was piled up at the dock areas waiting to be shipped over. I think we should have kept it for ourselves and recycled it here.
