Am I the a-hole?

A number of years ago, the Sherwood post office sent us a notice that they would be discontinuing service to our house. The reason for this is that they wanted us to move our mailbox across the street.

As I'm afraid I'm probably guilty of oversharing here already, I can't show you a photo of where they want us to put the mailbox, but there's no sidewalk in front of where they want it. The mailbox would literally be sticking out so far that I would have to stand in the middle of the street to get my mail. And while it's a 35 mile an hour zone, people regularly blow through our section of town going 50 miles an hour or faster, because we're right near the edge of town. So for the last several years, we've had to rely on a PO box for everything.

Recently, Northwest Medical tried sending me replacement supplies for my BiPAP machine via UPS. They addressed the package to my home address, but I thought nothing of it because it's UPS, not USPS. But unfortunately, the UPS people at some point handed it over to the USPS to complete delivery. Which means now my vital medical supplies are being held hostage because I won't move my fuсking mailbox across the street and get run over by a speeding car trying to get my bills.

My parents feel I'm overreacting. They think I should just contact Northwest Medical again and tell them it will just need to be redelivered to the PO box. I feel like what they're telling me to do is shut up and take it in the aѕs like a good little bitсh while the post office holds my vital medical supplies hostage.

I know the clock's ticking here, but it might not be a bad idea to call the mayor, or whatever elected official oversees the post office. Tell them about how unsafe you feel, how unresponsive the post office has been to your needs.

@BlueVeins I think I may do that tomorrow.

You mean the postmaster?!

Idk about you being a-hole(yet)??
But you don’t exactly strike me as even moderately intelligent, that’s for 💯 % sure.

Update: Northwest Medical tells me there's nothing they can do. Calling the post office is useless, because they just say they need to reschedule for delivery, then tell me it can't be redelivered.

Guess I'll die.

@SW-User That is what my mom suggested. The thing is, it's just the regional postmaster for Sherwood who's being such a bitсh about it. I even told her last time we were willing to let the mail delivery trucks turn around in our driveway, but she wanted to know what happens when I move out.

But yeah, that's what I'm going to have to do.

@LordShadowfire sorry unfortunately some people just make things hard for no good reason
