Think it's safe to say we have more money than sense and the western world is bored!

Regardless of how much we have we just never seem to be satisfied!

What was the reason given to the why on that news?

@SW-User I'm not sure I understand your question to me
SW-User
@Mellowgirl The title on that news clip you're showing us begins with a 'why ....'. What was the reason they have concluded that women are doing this? It can't be boredom.

@SW-User trend?
Anti aging?
Cost £500 so status thing
Celebrities and models look a particular way. Probably via makeup!
SW-User
@Mellowgirl Is that the reason then news gives or you think this is what it might be?

I am thinking it might be a body dysmorphia thing.

@SW-User I'm not sure what you're getting at here but if they didn't have the money they couldnt have the unnecessary procedure thats putting their health at risk to look like a fricking alien
SW-User
@Mellowgirl Body dysmorphia is a real thing and it's not so black and white. Some people will even take out a loan to change their body.
Anyway, doesn't matter. I was just asking what that news article concluded. x

@SW-User precisely more money than sense. Its not necessary or needed, they could take that loan to work on the body dysmorphia.

But enablers and exploiters wouldn't benefit from a person getting healthy!
SW-User
@Mellowgirl I don't even know what to say to that, lol. It's a mental health issue and some understanding would go a long way.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@SW-User I don't think in this particular case these people deserve my understanding. They deserve to be scorned...
All this namby pamby molly codling us wh so many people keep falling by the way side!

If a friend asked me what I thought I'd tell them straight. Fricking awful, and I wouldn't want to be seen out with them!
SW-User
@Mellowgirl I see your point and I would give the same advice to someone asking from me. I'll only do it without scorn.
No one deserves being scorned, we do not know what causes them the anguish that would lead them to do something so scary and drastic.
To me, things are not black and white, but that's me.
It doesn't bother me how you see them or how you choose to be about them. I was just interested in the conclusion in the article.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@SW-User no problem, I just find it unbelievably scary how impressionable people are and the lack of real love they have for themselves.
They think this is a healthy sign of vanity...
SW-User
@Mellowgirl I think at some level they know it's not healthy but they lack a lot of things to make that distinction for themselves. There is a lot of deeply unrooted stuff going on beneath such actions.

@SW-User sad very very sad
SW-User
@Mellowgirl It is, yes. It's heartbreaking.
