limit terms for all politicans... senators, mayors, judges... literally anyone.. to two terms

@Bad4U like civil service, after a term or two go back to what you were doing.

@Bad4U then all we ever get are unqualified people with no experience in government, like reality tv D-listers and actors ... mean there are actual college courses in how to do this stuff, but there's no incentive go get a public administration degree if you know in advance you'll be sent home after one or two terms and need to learn a different career at that point. I'd rather elect someone who actually knows this job, not that job, just as I'd like to go see a doctor who isn't just practicing medicine for the next 4 years then changing careers.

There always seems to be an undertone of oversimplification with the term limits (and flat tax) suggestion ... for sure, life terms as with SCOTUS are a horrible idea though, and nepotism is an even worse idea than the one family member serving multiple consecutive terms ... there should be no political family dynasties.

@SW-User We have term limits in Michigan and it works pretty well. And it should work pretty well In D.C. no one ever accused those idiots of being qualified or smart!
@Bad4U Not sure that's the answer, some politicians have learned it doesnt matter what we do as long as we can sway? (then have a nice rich position after)

@Bad4U but the New Deal reforms were brought by a three term president who did what the voters wanted because he faced reelection.

@Changeisgonnacome precisely ... we don't want a president-for-life like Putin, but we don't want to lose someone like FDR after just two terms either, and just have the pendulum do its regularly scheduled swing back to the right (because the way most of the US electorate votes makes no sense ... it's like watching some bizarre tennis match ... back and forth ... back and forth ...)
