No. When people are given a choice between being asked to change their minds and proving that there's no need to do so, most people get started on the proof.

Only when working on that proof yields to an inescapable conclusion that their premise was false, will they change their minds. But sometimes the path to that conclusion takes a long time to traverse.

The only one who can change your mind is you. I have had friends that changed their minds years later to agree with me--or I them. It just never happens in the moment.
