Around what year did you first hear about the internet?

I heard about it first in the 80s coz I had an American penpal who was into technology and was going to go to MIT, but I didn't use it til about 1999.

Early 2000's, it wasn't until 2010 that we got it at home, but beginning in 2005 i had a family friend buying controversial art films from ebay. He was not without his strict set of morals and put an end to it shortly, i know i know TMI .....:)

Somewhere in the late 60's. I read a lot of sci-fi, I think it may have been Arthur C. Clarke in one of his short stories. He thought of geo synchronous satellites too!

I heard about the internet as a kid in some movies pretty early maybe 1990 but it wasn't explained properly or really called " the internet" yet. But I knew that computers could connect people across the world and information could be shared. I thought that it was for rich geniuses.

But the internet as we know it today didn't come for me until maybe 1995
