Pretty sure all you need to go to heaven is to accept that Christ Jesus is the son of god who died to pay for your sins🤷‍♀️
@Pikachu I don't get that...I wasn't there sinning.
@fernie2

You're always sinning. You're an inherently sinful creature that deserves to die but Jesus took that just punishment on himself to save you because god loves you so much.
@PikachuMore than once I have been so disappointed here. There have been members I really liked..then they say something like you just did. Utter nonsense. According to that ridiculous buybull...we are born sinners. It's mental
@fernie2

Well before you judge me too harshly, i don't believe that stuff. I'm just relaying the theological position of the Christian.
@Pikachu OH!!!! My apologies!
@fernie2

lol no worries. I gave no indication that this was not my own belief.
Sorry, sometimes i just answer questions as a believer would even if i don't hold that belief myself.
Personally i think it's a fucked up ideology that preys on people's feelings of guilt and low self-esteem.
@Pikachu It's is ALL about control
@fernie2

I think there's a lot of genuine comfort and community to be found among the adherents but yeah, at the higher levels i think there are less devout people who are more interested in the power and privilege that exploiting the ideology can give them.
@Pikachu I agree!
There have been very dark times in my life when ..for instance, when my dearest friend of 45 years suddenly died I was beyond devastated...I actually tried to believe...trying to buy it all...that she went to heaven and wasn't sick anymore...saw her loved ones.....there was no way. Could not do it.Whew'
@fernie2
Yeah i think it would be wonderful to believe that. Which is why i always think it's funny when i hear Christians say that atheists just don't want to believe.
@Pikachu Exactly!!! Who wouldn't want that kind of crutch...if it was real? It sure is the best kept secret...because it's a fairy tale

@fernie2 This person is an atheist but that comment is basic Christian, Islamic, Jewish, many other religions concepts.
Sinner = imperfect.
If you are not perfect then you are a sinner. All are equal because they are not God. Only God is not a sinner a.k.a. perfect.
So yes we are all born sinners.
@REMsleep who decides what "perfect" is?
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@fernie2 Perfection doesn't exist even a small child can see that nothing and no one is perfect in this world

Of course an atheist doesn’t want to believe. Since the beginning of creation God’s divine power has been quite obvious to everyone so men are without excuse. That science has proved that the creation is far more complex than far more design than anybody ever thought so designer is far more on the cards than any simplistic picture that we had even 200 years ago. So the atheist is even more without excuse@Pikachu

That is a superficial understanding. The Christian faith is not about ‘going to heaven’ but coming into relationship with God through the living Messiah and being part of his new creation. @Pikachu
@1354swrdt Belief is not subject to free will. If you disagree, please demonstrate by choosing to not believe in God for the next five minutes.

So I can choose not to believe in the sun for the next five minutes? What a stupid idea! @LeopoldBloom
@1354swrdt

Yes i agree. My explanation is the entry point into becoming a Christian while yours is a description of what it means to be a Christian.

I think it depends what we mean by the words@Pikachu
@1354swrdt no doubt
