@bijouxbroussard Oh, no joke! They made kids use their right hand back in the day.

@Fukfacewillie They tied my left hand to my chair so I wouldn’t use it to write and reach for things. Me, and a boy named Dana who was also a “lefty”, the only ones in the class. He and I bonded over that humiliation. 🙄

@bijouxbroussard Wasn't just nuns, my aunt did the same to me....granted, she probably would've been a nun were it not for the fact she wasn't Catholic. :P

@SarahAndSamantha Funny how people once saw being left-handed almost as a disability to be overcome. Now they have desks, scissors, all kinds of implements designed for lefties. My uncle, who was a violinist, bought me a left-handed violin when I was learning how to play.
A lot of us older lefties don’t use them—we became functionally ambidextrous to adapt.

@bijouxbroussard It wasn't even just considered a disability. Lefties were seen as evil. The word 'sinister' even comes from Latin, meaning 'on the left'.
I've lost all ability to do anything lefty. So, her 'therapy' worked. I wonder sometimes if that's why my handwriting is so messy though lol.
