‘They’ must be terrible at lying, because we now have good knowledge and understanding about all those topics

@fernie2 And the opioid thing, I remember when I was 15 and had a time when I had a lot of headaches, they gave me darvocet. I had no clue what it was at the time and never got hooked.

Now I think, "What the hell were they thinking giving some 15 year old kid darvocet?

@CestManan Sometimes i listen to " old time radio" shows and that is exactly what most of the cigarette commercials say...they made people actually believe they were healthy knowing all along how addictive and dangerous they were.

Well, the company who makes Camel lied about their cigarettes.

Johnson and Johnson lied about the cancer causing talc.

I imagine the companies trying to profit are where the lies originate.

But THIS time they are telling the truth. 🙄

@fernie2 As a smoker myself I can say - there is nothing healthy about cigarettes.

No one ever warned women about toxic shock syndrome, Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women but what they got was extremely disfigured babies... there are so many examples but...people are unwilling to accept that we were duped so often.Some outright lied, some of the meds were put on the market with very little research.
