What chat sites have you tried and what was your impressions of them?

I just took at look at RelateToThat. Seems like only 2 people are doing all the question asking and answering at the moment. I have heard their site administrator is something of an ogre. Any insights about Thoughtcatalog, Answermug or Quora?

Aside from R2T, I'm only familiar with AnswerMug. Didn't really like it and never felt like I fit in there. This place is much more like EP and I've always felt like I belonged here.

Quora is ...too serious for me . and besides, the assholes flagged me cuz of my username....what kind of fucking bs is that. It was a super normal username,no bad words included in it at all

Agreed. I tried Quora for a short time, but found the content too heavy for my taste.

How do you feel sw stacks up against ep islandalone?

@DanielChristensen: Since this is still a new site construction is ongoing.
There are similarities to EP and slight differences. Simply put, if EP were to return tomorrow I'd stay with SW.

@islandalone: That's cool I am glad you are finding this site agreeable. I tapped into a more satisfying undercurrent of light intellectual discourse and compassionate people on ep that I miss. Sw is enjoyable enough whilst I do other things simultaneously.

I tried Reddit once (I think that counts). I wasn't too impressed, as a lot of the people there seemed kind of pretentious and would downvote/insult you for having an unpopular opinion.

I'm not sure about those other sites you mentioned though. Sorry.
