I’m thinking that it happens. It happened to my dad when everyone got tired of his meanness. I listened to a lot of people expressing that at the last job I’d worked. It was heartbreaking sometimes. I’m also reminded of a woman I’d randomly encountered at the mall who told me about her daughter cutting ties with her, and she didn’t know why (I listened to her for five minutes and all the little negative jabs she got in about people she didn’t even know during that time told me a possible reason why her daughter stopped talking to her). It just happens.
