i think its unrealistic in movies when people hot wire a car , like if i were to try that i'd pull out wires from the under the dash and it would

be an octopus of wires , i'd connect 2 up and the windshield wipers would come on , next the high beams , then tail lights and so on , people would think i broke into their car just to listen to the Radio , lol

It's just a device plot. It hasn't been a very fast way to steal a car since the 1950s anyway.

The locks are always made of cheap pot metal and a couple tools could turn that ignition lock in 2 seconds.

Now that they keep using electronic methods it's even easier to just record someone's beacon signal and clone it.
