@Lilymoon apparently a lot of Vitamins have been held back from the information pool , almost like they wanted us to get sick
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Lilymoon Vitamin D is an important nutrient for the immune system. Those with darker skin have a harder time making it naturally from getting sunshine and probably should be tested for their levels and supplement if they are low.

@FurryFace @cherokeepatti D is about the only one I take regularly.
I'm a little skeptical of vitamin tablets... I prefer getting them from food.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti yep Dr John Campbell talked about this numerous times Vitamin D's

@cherokeepatti Anyone who lives north of the 46th parallel won't get enough vitamin D regardless of skin color. I live near the 53 parallel so yeah I need vitamin D supplements. Vitamin D causes the immune system to work.

@Lilymoon yeah I’ve heard that from a woman who told me that when you take vitamins you get expensive urine. That woman is about my age and looks 15 or more years older. I hadn’t seen her for about 10 years and then the last time I saw her she looked at me and said “You haven’t changed a bit”. They have found out that vitamins helps preserve your telemores, which indicates how fast you are aging.

@hippyjoe1955 Do you eat kippers and sardines? They have a lot of vitamin D in them. I get on a kick where I will make a salad every day and add a tin of kippers to it. I can tell if I’ve been a little low on Vitamin D because I start feeling better after eating the kippers, more energy etc.especially in the winter.

@cherokeepatti hmmm... genes play a big role in how you age...just sayin
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Lilymoon yes I know. My sisters have all aged faster than I have and we are very close in age. They won’t spend the money to buy any vitamins.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I do eat kippers and sardines. I do know that a polar bears liver has so much vitamin D it is actually poisonous to humans! Growing up Mom always made is take our daily cod liver oil.
