Where you a demanding child? (yea i know, noone likes to admit it)

I asked for things but I probably wouldn't get it. Or if I did I almost didn't want it anymore.
Or I got something they thought was more suited to me instead.

Although I didn't grow up resentful as I got older and earned my own money I did especially when they would tell me not to buy the things I wanted.

At this point I had moved out so it didn't make any sense to tell me what to do.

This will sound really spoiled but I never had to demand anything because I got most of what I asked for. If I ever demanded something though I'd probably would have gotten a back hand.

Nope. I was a severely abused child and put up with it far too long. At 11 I ran away to get help from the people that had been leaving me food and clothing and their barn unlocked for years at a neighboring farm. They ultimately adopted me. I was just happy not to be hungry or dirty or cold and no one was hurting me. I was afraid they would throw me away so I made sure I was good!

Very much so but I suspect if I hadn't been neglected by a couple alcoholic patents I wouldn't have been constantly looking for any kind of attention.

I asked for things, but understood that no meant no. Looking back, I understand why. We've always been lower middle class, bordering poverty.

@Mellowgirl Nope.. We didn't have much before who raised me came in the pic, by then I still wasn’t comfortable asking for anything like that. Though I don’t remember specifically wanting things.
