Does it seem abnormal for someone to always be sweet and never show anger, jealousy, irritation or other normal human emotions/reactions?

Some people are truly capable of managing their feelings and not exploding all over everyone.
Yep. Those are the people whose neighbors are always shocked when they find out about the bodies buried in the backyard. 😐

@TheFlippantSide Fo sho! Psychopath?
Unusual, yes. But some people are capable of keeping a tight rein on their emotions and consider them private.

Yes. There are many people, though, capable of remaining at least civil and somewhat reasonable when they are feeling those emotions/reactions. More often than not, anyway.

I've debated this very question before with friends. Fact is, a couple of my friends fit that description and the others wondered how I could stand them. 😄 I guess I'd say it was normal for the people I knew. Apparently, they were just very even tempered, naturally serene women.

Yes it’s called being hedonistic 😑

@fernie2 That's your perception. I don't think that's the context of the question. It didn't say keep feelings to themselves, it said never show anything but sweetness

Yes
I feel like at some point something is going to set them off and then all those weeks/months/years of pent up emotions are going to have them up in a bell tower somewhere.

Not always. If you can sense total fakeness and inner irritation like a tea kettle ready to boil or they plaster their face with a Joker like smile at all times then yes.
But I try not to show much emotion with people unless they are extremely extremely close to me and it helps me in life and business.
I don't see a need to share my emotions with the world.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@fernie2 Serious emotions no. Only maybe 2 or 3 people have seen me cry in my life. I don't scream in public. In general I hardly laugh but thats the same in private. At home I scream and get very emotional about topics of discussion but thats for the real people in my life.
I have taken a stern fussy tone sometimes at retail people but not from anger. Because they were treating me badly.
@REMsleep It's doubtful that you grew up with Italians! I'm glad you let abusive people have it.As long as you release sometimes. Squashed emotions very often manifest as illness...or, like so many males who don't cry or emote because society tells them it's weakness...become violent.

@fernie2 I am just natural reserved and I distrust sharing real feelings with others unless you are highly vetted. It makes me feel classy

Yes. They are the ones who wind up doing something crazy eventually.

Indeed. Seems fake, plus creepy.
@Magenta Those are such negative terms. There's not necessarily "fakeness" involved. People have different reasons for not being demonstrative...emotionally speaking

If it seems too good to be true...

I would wonder what drug they're taking

Those people turn out to be closet crazies.

@iamonfire696 Sometimes but not always. I have known a few genuinely saintly people.
