Do you really trust the people you're chatting with here?

Think about it..

Yes. I have no reason for mistrust.

I was scammed, once, by trusting too easily. For a while after that, I mistrusted all of everyone, until I realized that scammer would remain the winner as long as I felt I couldn't trust. Now, I say, NO! I am not a loser. That person is the loser. He/she had a very good, kind, caring friend in me. When he/she lost my friendship, it was not my loss. I have not been changed by a troll.

So I trust each and every one of you. The only difference is, if someone tries to fool me again, I will recognize the warning signs. I am a wee bit wiser, now. Thank you Madeline Chapman. I hope you are well.

Everyone here (except me) is from either a Chinese, Russian, North Korean, or Iranian Computer Hacking School.

Here on SW they practice their Fake Persona learning to be like a "Typical Western World Dumbass, Smartass, Social Misfit with Personality Disorders and Zero Common Sense"

From here they move on to Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat, and News Comment Sections and Troll the Entire World.

As far as meeting them.... I would never do . But there are a several that I believe are exactly as they seem. Others are not ... sociopaths use these sites as hunting grounds . A few years back , I heard about a smart one that used the metadata stored in photos from a cell phone to find and stalk his prey. Kept in the seclusion of the anonymity this site provides ... we are safe

Sure. But people can also con and trick people in real life. It's eaiser to do so online, but... everyone is on the internet now, right? Most people you meet will be fine. Some will not. So all we can do is be cautious but still try to work with society. If we assume everyone we meet online is out to get us, we're going to be a paranoid, reclusive mess.

I'm neutral in this as I simply asked for opinions on trusting others here (online) I can only comment or add to the discussion based on my own experiences, which so far have been a positive one. Because I exercise extreme caution with my interactions.
I have seen the opposite, as in the case I just described and in stories posted here. It may be different for men. But over all, I believe women should always error on the side of caution when it comes to on line anything.

Coz sometimes I am very open and share feelings then other times I'm withdrawn and almost secretive. This is coz of some events in my life that have left me damaged and prone to swings in mood....
I guess people see this as inconsistent behaviour and think I'm fake.

True. Anyone can pretend to be anyone. I see that you are using the name Jonathan. I will believe that is your true name, because you are using it. It could just be a name you like the sound of, as I chose Serenitree, because I like how it sounds. But that doesn't make me a pretender. I don't expect you to believe I am a tree. I believe that there are probably some who are being a fantasy for themselves. That doesn't mean you can't trust them. Unless you plan to meet in person, or they start asking for money or personal info. As long as they are just being who they want to be, I say leave them be. I don't object to people creating a better life story for themselves. Or just a different one. Their story won't change my life. I accept people. Unless they show that they are unwilling to do the same.
