Is it in bad taste

If someone says they bought you something but they give it to someone else? 😬

I'm honestly curious on how it's not 🤔

It's subjective. I would understand, I guess.
Understand what?

@Poptartinvasion: Them. If their intentions were innocent and not intended to make me feel less, than of course, I'll let it slide. But, if it starts happening again I would start thinking if I mean something to them, because if I did, I guess they should have spent more time and effort in choosing the gift, and most certainly wouldn't re-gift it. In that case I would feel a little offended and will step up, and I will certainly ask them why is that I don't mean something special to them. Buttttt, as you see these is very subjective response. Some people in my place wouldn't even think about it. But I stopped overreacting a long time ago, and I just try to pause and understand the reasons first. In any case, the most important will always be my family.
@justsomeguy: that's true. it was just really rude to me it's very difficult for me to see it not being rude. I usually don't take friendships so seriously but at the same time I don't want someone walking all over me 😐 Idk it's whatever the friendship was becoming complicated anyway so I just said maybe we should take a friendship break
