It’s important for kids to know that life isn’t always fair.

Why sugarcoat it? I remember brothers and I would complain that’s not fair but out dad said, “Of course it isn’t. Life isn’t fair. I mean wouldn’t understand because we were taught to be fair to others but I guess there’s another way of it. We understand what he saying. Most kids complain, “It’s not fair!!!!” Well it isn’t kids so get used to it and buck up. When kids get older and be adults, no one‘s gonna want to complainer or at workers college. Yes, life is not fair seems blunt, but it’s the truth and we need to stop sugarcoat stuff to kids. We’ve all been those kids that screamed it’s not fair. Don’t pretend you didn’t.
Now as an adult I get annoyed when kids scream and cry does not fair. I wanted to say, “You bet it isn’t kid! Get over it!” But I don’t want to sound rude.

I learned that lesson very young - I agree that kids should know that life doesn’t always give you what you want, but I also think childhood is a gift and children should be children as long as they can be. The world will be ugly enough once they grow up, let them live in fantasy and bliss whilst they can

@SW-User Yes that is true. That’s why we told the kids to be kids don’t be in a hurry to grow up because adulthood is just not fun.

I would never say to a small child get over it.

@SW-User no I wouldn’t tell a smaller child to get over either, but if they’re in middle school or high school, then they’re old enough to be told that. They should be old enough to understand
