It’s important for kids to know that life isn’t always fair.

Why sugarcoat it? I remember brothers and I would complain that’s not fair but out dad said, “Of course it isn’t. Life isn’t fair. I mean wouldn’t understand because we were taught to be fair to others but I guess there’s another way of it. We understand what he saying. Most kids complain, “It’s not fair!!!!” Well it isn’t kids so get used to it and buck up. When kids get older and be adults, no one‘s gonna want to complainer or at workers college. Yes, life is not fair seems blunt, but it’s the truth and we need to stop sugarcoat stuff to kids. We’ve all been those kids that screamed it’s not fair. Don’t pretend you didn’t.
Now as an adult I get annoyed when kids scream and cry does not fair. I wanted to say, “You bet it isn’t kid! Get over it!” But I don’t want to sound rude.

I learned that lesson very young - I agree that kids should know that life doesn’t always give you what you want, but I also think childhood is a gift and children should be children as long as they can be. The world will be ugly enough once they grow up, let them live in fantasy and bliss whilst they can

@SW-User Yes that is true. That’s why we told the kids to be kids don’t be in a hurry to grow up because adulthood is just not fun.

@SW-User I posted my silly post and never even saw this... lol
I would never say to a small child get over it.

@SW-User no I wouldn’t tell a smaller child to get over either, but if they’re in middle school or high school, then they’re old enough to be told that. They should be old enough to understand

I was raised with the awareness of every problem in my life. It makes kids much more responsible and smarter at a younger age.

Correct. At an early age, in school, we play games and sports for which there are rules, and if the rules are broken, we can shout, "He cheated!", or, "That was OUT!", and if the rules are not upheld by the teacher, or grown up in charge, we can also shout, "That's not FAIR!"

Unfortunately, no one ever explains, (to most kids), that real life has nothing to do with the so-called fairness of games. The rules they must obey are our laws, or the Ten Commandments, or the rules set out for employees in the workplace, or the rules you must obey on social media websites...😉.

Very recently, an editor at a famous newspaper announced that he will no longer hire young men and women graduating from Ivy League Schools, because they are graduating as loud and contentious humans and seem to feel that they are victims, and the rules of the workplace do not have to be obeyed. 🤣 Someone tell me THAT's not fair...🤣🤣🤣

@4meAndyou Wow that’s a lot of shit lol

I believe sometimes it is unfair and sometimes we get the break and then other times it is just fair. But we tend to rant on the times it is not fair. Have to fight through those and not just concede and have a pity party.
