What do you say to my friend who has a guy tearing her apart.

He left taking everything (furniature included) exept her clothes. Then left a note saying he was unfaithful. She's trying so hard to chase him down and her heart is in half. She's thinking about suiside and I have no idea what to say. Something nice but that will wake her up! I've tried all the normal he's not worth it. Take time to find you again. Be the woman God wants you to be and hold your head up. But I'm at a loss and she's getting worse.

There is No Win for her now or for You trying to help her on your own.

Either tell the police that she's suicidal and she'll get put on a 72 hour hold for evaluation and counseling.

OR

Let her make her own ass miserable and leave her totally alone!

YOU cannot solve this, fix this, make her happy, nothing!!

Until she learns to cope with life, even when it's shitty, she'll be a basket case over one thing or another!

It is like rape, hurts to your core. If she owns half that stuff she should call the police and report it as theft. Did she have insurance? She can file a claim and tell them she knows who took it. Get the guy arrested.

A good response, but deflection is probably better. Try to not talk about it. Keep her mind off it. She's making her life all about him. Show her life is just fine without him. If she brings it up listen and remind her that she lived well before him and she will live well after him. Tell her you love her and she will be fine.[/c]

Do something fun together--go to a club, bar, concert; anything to get her mind off of that guy. Help keep her mind too busy to give him though. It's going to take time for her to get over that...
