How do you feel about people who are good talkers but poor listeners?

I try to cut people some slack. I have a very good friend who has no memory of almost anything I say. I used to be offended by that, but he can't remember whether it's nutmeg he doesn't like, or cinnamon...so I don't think it's a listening problem.
