Patience. Learning more about how other's interact with me and making more rational decisions that aren't based of emotions alone. Sometimes you need to endure to understand.

I'm still in the middle of accepting and adapting to it because it's taking different forms and I'm not used to it all but epilepsy. It takes a toll on you and restricts you in ways that I'd take for granted before.
@Allelse lmao, can I be the flipper and you the flopper? It only sounds right
Allelse · 36-40, M
@HijabaDabbaDoo Hahaha!!! :P Sure thing. But seriously, if you ever want to talk about what it's like, compare notes and just generally be sad together at how much it can suck being epileptic, I'd be happy to chat.
@Allelse Thank you, that's sweet. I appreciate that😊 And it'd help greatly talking to someone who can relate or to gain insight into other people's experiences so I might take you up on that offer. How long have you had epilepsy or the seizures if I can ask?

That a lot of what I thought was my life, was an illusion.
peskyone · F
@SW-User I can relate to this 100%
SW-User
@peskyone What brought you that awareness, if I may ask?

I would say hindsight? People telling me that they "loved me" and me believing them and basing all other loves on that premise. It wasn't until someone truly loved me unconditionally that made me stop and think the other people were full of nonsense. It's difficult to navigate your life when your first teachers (parents) lied and ridiculed you while wrapping it up in a pretty package of love and family.

I cannot change my past but I can change my perception of it.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
Never being anyone's first choice and always being easily replaceable.
Punches · 46-50, F
@LadyBronte One must be their own best friend. I know that may sound smart alec but really it is true.

And no, you cannot be replaced. There is but one of you.
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@Punches Oh but those two statements do hold true. It was driven home with no question at the beginning of this year.
Allelse · 36-40, M
Epilepsy. It aint going nowhere, but I'm kind of hoping when the aliens come down they'll be able to have a look at my neural networking and fix the problem.
Punches · 46-50, F
Not sure if I have accepted it yet but knowing I am not getting any younger.

Some bitter truths which I'll just keep to myself at this stage.

@DearAmbellina2113 I would not say you are ugly.
You do look good plus you are one of the more real people here.
@DearAmbellina2113 But, you’re not. 😳

@acupaday Worry is productive IF -
1) There is evidence you should worry and not just wild speculation.
2) If worry leads to positive actions that can or will circumvent the crisis one worries about.

If there is no real evidence OR if an outcome is out of our control, then worry is unwarranted.

@Tastyfrzz People in general are a pain in the @ss anyways. There are entire sectors of the legal field dealing with peoples' screw-ups. Entire areas of psychology giving names and symptoms to bad people.

I started a thread about this but the reality is - the less people we have in our lives, the less headaches. People always envision the good parts of a situation without considering the bull.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I am alone. I grew up alone. I will always be alone. I will remain untouched. I know virtually nothing. I will only speak English but then, who would I talk to? I will never know how to play that guitar in the corner but who besides me would hear it. I will never be a beautiful person but no one is looking so what does it matter. Prayer is probably a waste of time but it's a good excuse when I'm talking to myself even though no one is listening. I'm accepting that the afterlife will likely be as memorable as the time before I was born and just as lonely as life.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Being sick. It's not even noteworthy anymore.
iamelijah · 26-30, M
I can never be happy.
@iamelijah why not?
iamelijah · 26-30, M
@Elevatorpitches I never experienced it. If we talk about happy laugh of small stuffs yeah but not the happiness that I was craving for so long time.
@iamelijah Its an overrated thing. Most happy people are sheer DOLTS!

That I must spell the name of the street I live on in the phonetic alphabet and that some people will actually write out each word wondering why I live on a street with such a long name.
Punches · 46-50, F
@Muthafukajones people screw up my street name a lot. It doesn;t help that there is a north and south version of it.
@Muthafukajones Ditto for my very ordinary NAME.😝
Occasionally encountering prejudice. Not letting it make me an angry person.
@bijouxbroussard ah yes, this is relatable too.
Being a *****💅

That I will never be a warm, naturally comforting person. I am aware it's not something one decides to be, it's either in you or not and most people don't have it anyway.

That life is what you make it
You can make it beautiful or you can make it unbearable

I choose beautiful

That one day I’ll end my life there’s something that keeps me going but that thing will fade forever one. Even my best memories had suicidal thoughts in the back of my head
@SW-User all my "good" experiences always also had haunting negative things about them too.
That I will die alone. 😂
