DIY projects

Anyone got a project to share that they might have done or would like to do? Anything artistic or even handy to have?
My latest is to tile an old fire pit outer area that was thrown away. I am using small tiles that were also throw away.
Anyone have something to share?

I bought a small bandsaw mill, and use trees from my land to turn in to lumber that I then use in my woodshop.

These are two recently finished projects. I have begun to change the way I garden around and have gone to vertical gardening. The top one is a U-shaped strawberry bed. I still need to wrap the deer fencing around the posts and make a door. Soon as the loam arrives, I'll mix that with peat, manure, fertilizer and lime, then shovel it into the bed of this, then put the plants in. No more bending over.
Second one is a cucumber trellis. It's a simple A-frame with hinges at the top so I can adjust the height. I will pull in the sides to make it taller so that as the plants begin to run, I'll train them to climb the trellis once it's in the garden. Then, as the plants start to produce cucumbers, I'll be able to walk through the middle and pick them like grapes as they drop down thru the wire grid.
I won't bore you with the tomatoes....ha, ha

@SW-User The thing with vertical gardening is that it works very neatly with those with limited space. You could still have vegetables....you just have to get used to the idea that, your plants will be raised vertically rather than horizontally. Traditional gardening takes more space. It's quite doable for you.

Sure! I used to collect interesting bits of blue and white pottery to make earrings. You can nip the pieces with nippers, grind the edges, drill a small hole for the O ring, and wrap them in stained glass style copper foil tape...(thick is good, about 3/8"). Use a pencil to smooth and press the tape to the pottery. Solder along the tape with silver solder. Then you add earring wires to the O ring.

@4meAndyou Very cool! A lot like I'm learning with stained glass, except I am learning to cut glass and then follow the steps. Very pretty!

@SW-User I used to do the stained glass, also, and the bezel settings above are more difficult to make...so wrapping copper foil? Easy Peasy!

Projects are my drive, so much so I do it for pay. I've got a few home projects but it's remodel type, but building a pavilion near the water line is my ambition of my "home" projects.
