For those who live in New York, how much money do you have to save for someone to move there?

Earlier this evening I discovered a local 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment listing online (I don't live in New York, by the way) that was listed with a rent (I'm assuming it's the rent, since it's listed as a single unit of an apartment complex) of almost $122,000. It was 121,000 something but I forget the exact last three digits...hence the rounding off.

Unless that person is SELLING the unit for someone to own, they're probably on some highly illegal drugs if they think anyone is going to pay that much for monthly rent.

@JustADnDNerd OK so what’s the cheapest city to live in? Best friend wants to live in New York and she wants me to move with her but the thing is I keep telling her it’s too expensive and it’s too cold. She told me not if we find a cheaper income and I will have to get used to the cold and warm up.

@SW-User even the cheapest one?? Damn! No way I’m living there! I know my best friend wants us to be roommates and convince me to come to New York with her and live with her but I don’t think she sees the real deal. She keeps saying we go out look for low income places. She said I need to stop giving up so easily and have a open mind.
