Well he has already done the bay of pigs thing and started the US involvement in Vietnam, so he already accomplished a lot

@DownTheStreet US involvement in Vietnam actually started in 1954 with Eisenhower supporting South Vietnam and covertly undermining North Vietnam. And before that, under Truman, the US aided France against Communist forces during the First Indochina War.
